His confidence and faith are challenged when he is met with opposition from his new congregation. Milton Cable, the family patriarch, notices the potential in Obadiah and offers to teach him about the community while encouraging him as the leader of their church. Through Milton's mentorship, Obadiah learns to trust the Lord to guide his path, even when it leads to an unexpected outcome.

I knew the ending of An Autumn of Violets well before I began drafting the story, so I sprinkled in subtle foreshadowing throughout the novel. I also practiced the scene that inspired the book several times so that when it was time to place it in the book, I made myself cry. Multiple times 😂 My editor and proofreaders said the same thing, so I guarantee a few tears will be shed.
