Another game… Another player of the game! Great job Madi! Keep working hard!

We are proud to present tonight’s Mama’s Kitchen Players of the Game.

Game 1: Madison Kurtz (RHP).

Kurtz was dominate in the circle by throwing a complete game shut-out. The hurler gave up just 2 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1 in the 8-0 Highlander victory.

Game 2: Lauren Wilcher (CF). Wilcher showed up in a big way by going 2-4 with 4 RBIs, a double, a grand slam, and one run scored. The Highlanders went on to win the night cap 9-4.

Congratulations ladies and thank you Mama’s Kitchen for your support of our Highlanders!

To know the adversity she faced in the fall to get here is special! Just starting out, and already getting pitcher of the week. It’s only up from here!

Madi hurled an 8 hit, 2 run (1 ER), 5 K complete game performance to lead the Highlanders to the 9-2 victory.

Game 2: Sarah Morris (RHP).

Sarah kept the Fire Ants off balance throwing a complete game and allowing just 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 6 batters.

So proud of Sierra for the work she’s been putting in! Going out with a bang her senior year!

Sierra is the athlete I’ve been giving lessons to the longest! So proud of her being honored as Player of the Game! Keep working hard!

I haven’t posted in a while, but this weekend was too good not to share! Big things are happening for my girls!
Brylee not only hit her first homerun, it was a GRAND SLAM!
Pyper has been pitching so well as a freshman, she earned Peach Belt Freshman of the Week!
McKenna (Pyper’s sister) couldn’t be out done, and set a career high strikeouts in her game!
Brooke McCubbin had a big week. She got the win against #14 UGA. Then pitched her first shutout of the year Sunday. She was also named Athletic Academic Services Student of the Month.
Kaylee MacDonald as a freshman was named GCAA Pitcher of the Week.
I am so proud of all the girls I work with. Unless you have a daughter that’s played softball you don’t understand the work that goes into it. I am so happy to see their hard work being rewarded!

MT has been working so hard this off season! She has gained 3 mph on her fastball. She comes every week ready to do whatever drill I throw at her! I can’t wait to see what MT accomplishes.
