BALTIMORE UNION SC 2010 & 2012 Boys KICK OFF POSTSEASON PLAY TODAY IN HIGH-STAKES REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RUN

The Baltimore Union Elite 2010 Boys and Baltimore Union Elite 2012 Boys officially start their highly anticipated postseason play today. Both premier rosters are taking the pitch this morning to battle for a spot in The National League Cup Finals (https://www.thenationalleague.com/the-national-league-cup-finals-2026/) this July in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Baltimore Union Elite 2010 Boys, led by Coach Scott Showalter, open their tournament schedule today at the NL Cup Playoff Semifinals (https://www.thenationalleague.com/the-nl-cup-2026-qualifiers/) hosted at the Publix Virginia Soccer Training Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The squad enters a highly competitive four-team group stage today. Operating in a round-robin format, the team's ultimate goal is to finish first in their bracket to claim the group's single qualifying ticket to the NL Cup Finals scheduled for July 7-9, 2026 in St Louis.

This prestigious National League competition remains entirely separate from the team's concurrent USYS National Championship track, where the 2010s previously captured the Maryland State Championship to secure a spot in Salt Lake City, Utah, this July.

Simultaneously, the Baltimore Union Elite 2012 Boys, guided by Head Coach Jason Just also begin their championship quest today.
The 2012 Elite boys have mirrored the success of the 2010s, qualifying for the playoffs in the exact same manner. They too have already earned a trip to USYS Nationals in Utah in July by winning the State Championship. This weekend, however, it’s all about the National League Playoffs. The 2012 squad must execute a clean sweep through their bracket starting with today's opening fixture to book their own ticket to the National League Final 8 in St. Louis.

"The preparation is over, and today is the day these young men have been working toward all year," said Danny Kelly, Baltimore Union Boys Director of Coaching. "To have both our 2010 and 2012 elite groups starting their national campaigns on the exact same morning speaks volumes about our club’s development model. They have proven they can compete under pressure, and we are excited to see them represent the Club on the pitch today."

We are extremely proud of Coaches Scott Showalter and Jason Just, their staff, team managers, families, and most importantly the players, whose commitment, dedication and work ethic have made this success possible. We look forward to watching them compete on one of the biggest stages in youth soccer.”

$25 Family Watch Party – Full Bull Roast Menu Included at Gunpowder Lodge| Supporting the Blake Elliott Foundation

Baltimore Union players and families are invited to enjoy the big game, Friday 6/19, at Gunpowder Lodge for a special $25 admission, which includes:

• Full Bull Roast menu featuring Pit Beef, Pit Turkey, Pit Ham, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and all the traditional Bull Roast favorites

• Admission from 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

This event is especially meaningful to our Union family. Blake Elliott was a former Baltimore Union player who tragically passed away in an automobile accident last fall. Blake's family remains active in our club, as her brother, Brayden, is a member of our 2010 Boys Elite Team. A portion of every admission will be donated to the Blake Elliott Foundation.

The Watch Party will be held both outdoors with large-screen TVs and indoors, providing a great atmosphere for families to enjoy the game, great food, and support a wonderful cause.

There is no admission charge after 4:30 PM, and the live band Flood Watch will begin promptly at 5:00 PM.

Flood Watch has strong Baltimore Union ties. The band's lead singer and keyboard player, Frank Assaro, is the son of our Executive Director, Frank Assaro. The drummer, Adam Mizell, is the father of Baltimore Union coach Wyatt Mizell.
