A Marvelous Spark Creative Studio

My first journal entry in this notebook was 10 years ago. I must have misplaced it or got out of the habit of writing, because my last journal entry (before writing in it again a few months ago) was from 2018.

Returning to a personal writing practice, specifically in this journal, has helped me find grounding and gratitude in an otherwise busy season of life. Writing feels so freeing, especially since I have lots of thoughts and ideas swimming around my head at any given moment. It allows me to reflect with intention and without expectation.

Do you engage in a journaling practice?

Visual consistency is important for brands, and so is versatility! The ways in which logos are used have changed over the years, with applications on both physical items and in digital spaces.

All of my branding packages include logo variations in full color, single color, and b/w so clients can effectively use them in different ways. I recently made a post about the importance of Brand Guidelines, which includes the do’s and don’ts of logo usage for the purpose of consistency.

I started painting a few years ago, and just recently got back into it. Around that same time, I often made posts to share what I was working on beyond the work day. Now that the boys go to bed much later and I have less energy/motivation in the evenings (when I usually do any of my own art), I haven’t been getting as much studio time in as I’d like. Maybe I need to change it up and carve out some time during the day.

Painting rocks is not only relaxing, it’s an accessible way to maintain a creative practice with limited time. It also provides an opportunity to spread positive messages to others. 🥰

I plan to place these rocks (and more as I make them) around my community, in hopes that whoever finds them receives the message that they need in that moment. 💜

Happy June/birthday month! 🥳🎂 Here’s a long overdue post to share some of my new branding photos by Ingrid Berrios Photography from last month.🤩📸

Ingrid is thorough, thoughtful, and creative in her approach to photography. She is already familiar with my brand, so she knew the look and feel I was going for. We worked together to develop a shot list for use in various places such as my website (which needs some updates 😅), social media, and other marketing. She was mindful of the orientation of the photos, providing several vertical and horizontal options, as well as closeups and wider views.

Ingrid first took my photos in the spring of 2025 in Baltimore. Now, just over a year later, I’ve moved to Bel Air and have an office/studio space in my basement. This time around, I wanted to showcase the space that I spend so much of my time in, in addition to other local spots that I frequent. Other facets of my brand are shown as well: highlighting creativity in various forms and demonstrating that it is possible (encouraged!) to be both professional and playful. 😌

I did a giveaway for a paint party last year, and the winner chose a dinosaur theme. 😍🦕 Finally added more life to the purple stegosaurus that sat unfinished on a white background for several months!

I enjoyed exploring bright colors, textures, and a variety of materials for this artwork, providing an opportunity to interact through both sight and touch.

The Harford County Chamber of Commerce Coffee & Connections events are always a great time, but this morning was even better because they had Heavenly Hunks!! 😆😋 IYKYK
