I had such a great time today at Distillery Labs talking about sustainable fashion for highschool consumer science classes around the area. I forgot how much I love doing this 💕🌱

Attending last night’s Gbeta kick off was a whirlwind of emotions. I’m proud to have gone through the program myself and learned so much.

This cohorts founders were very inspiring and I was happy to see a female founder in the mix. It was also great to hear from Pierre Paul from We Hear You, such an incredible company. I absolutely love what you guys are doing!!

The event was held at Distillery Labs in Peoria, an entrepreneur hub for startups. It was nice to see what has come from the partnerships built in the past few years to bring the startup community together.

How cute did these scrunchies turn out 💕 the top one is silk dyed with pomegranate and dipped in an iron bath to give it some grey tones.

The bottom one is dyed with cochineal and dipped in an iron bath to give it some purple hues….yall im obsessed 🤩 I could just make silk scrunchies all day ❤️ full tutorial will be on my TikTok tomorrow

This project is very simple and takes little fabric.

You will need 1 piece of 4in by 18in fabric.

1 piece of elastic 8in long

Getting ready to go live today at 12. Who’s joining???

Today I will be showing you how to see a classic tote.

Please let me know if you have anything you would like me to touch on, any sewing tips or about different tools or techniques.

I’m going to try and be sure to pay attention to questions. Bear with me a bit, this is my first sewing live so fingers crossed it goes smoothly lol.

Dust off your sewing machine and sharpen your scissors!! Here’s an example of my first sewing project!!

We’re starting very basic with a simple tote bag. I’ll be doing a live facebook video tomorrow on how to create this bag. If you want to follow along here’s what you need.

For the bag fabric I used one solid color for the straps and stripes for the bag itself. You need 2 pieces for the bag which I cut 18in by 15in and two strap pieces that I cut 3 inches by 54 inches.

A little update….I am excited to say that I will be finished with the first part of my Integrative Health Practitioner certification at the end of this month and will be able to start working with clients.

Having the opportunity to blend this knowledge with becoming a certified herbalist and utilizing that knowledge as well is extremely exciting! I am integrating these principles and practices in my own life and can already see a difference in many areas.
