One of the most popular destinations for boaters in the area is “Sand Island.”

Sand Island is known for its giant wall of sand and an ideal place to anchor the boat and relax in the water. The kids love running up and down the hill then taking a dip in the shallows to cool off.

If you’re lucky, visitors sometimes set up giant slip and slides on top of the hill and slide right into the water!

During peak summer months you may want to arrive early to claim a spot. Also, if you’re renting from us you may want to consider booking an all day trip to really enjoy all that the area has to offer. The ride from the dock to sand island takes about 45 min-1 hour so plan accordingly.

Directly across the water from Sand Island to the south is Fort Mcree. Fort Mcree is only accessible by boat so make sure to check it out while you’re in the area as well.
