Lester came from Wallowa County to establish the hearing aid business in Pendleton. He was active in the Oregon Hearing Society helping to establish the current licensing system for Oregon. After 17 years in Pendleton, Lester decided to move to Walla Walla, WA and invited his son Philip to assume the Pendleton business. In 1978, Philip moved to Pendleton with his family.
