Queen of the Rodeo ✨

2025 mood. Let’s get it

A few thoughts from 2024:

1. Thinking about switching camera systems. Been with Fujifilm for years, but time for a change.

2. Fall is still the best season, and Pendleton Round Up is still my favorite rodeo. No surprise there, I’m sure.

3. Try not to let fast paced environments affect your ability to focus and create the best work you can. Make time to get the photos you came for, even when others or circumstances would hurry the process.

4. I’m glad I finally took the time to start a solid blog. I should have done it sooner.

5. The main thing missing from my work is a print shop. That’s a high priority for 2025.

6. I took too much time off for personal projects. It took a disproportionate amount of time and effort to get things back on course after the fact. Perfectionism is poor time management. Strike a balance.

7. We’re encouraged to niche-down in photography. For me, it’s more important to niche-down on personal style than subject matter.

8. It’s possible to lean too far into a purist mindset. Make what you want to make. If you like it, and you’re proud of it, it’s solid.

9. Prioritize action. Don’t overthink/over-plan a thing. Prepare well, but more importantly, get out there and do it.

10. Prioritize friends and family over travel and experience. Make more of an effort to bring the two things together.

11. Still know when to say no, but say yes more.

12. Take more risk. It works.

13. Effort is not always equal to outcome - put in a lot. It works.

14. Stop hoarding vintage clothes and guitar gear.

15. 14 seemed like a weird number to end on… Stay gold ✨
