Drop-in tours available. The Pendleton Historic Foundation [PHF] was founded in 1960’s to ensure the preservation of Woodburn Historic House.

Ashtabula: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 10 am to 1, Sundays, 2:00 pm
Woodburn: Sundays, 3:30 pm
Cash/check for drop-in tour $5/5-18, $10/Adults
For private tours of 5+ people, contact us at least 72 hours in advance. While the funds were being raised to restore Woodburn, the Mead Paper Company donated Ashtabula Historic House and an additional 10 acres of land to the Foundation, similarly

On this Juneteenth, the Historic Foundation recognizes slavery and inequality as both our nation’s greatest sin and our ongoing challenge. The arc of justice doesn’t bend on its own. We must all do our part, and God knows there is much work to be done.

Locally, let us do that by telling the truth. And, let us do that by supporting projects such as the Keese Barn Initiative that will allow for more truths to be told. As President Obama said,

Good Friday morning. It's June 19, 2026. We are waiting to welcome you to Ashtabula from 10-1 and the Guard House, an official SC Welcome Center, from 4:30-6. You can visit both and explore beautiful Pendleton by taking a leisurely walk all around town and seeing everything we have to offer. Drop by the Jenkins House. If someone is there working, you might get a peek inside. Get your weekend started. Be a part of local history. You won't regret visiting. We can't wait to see you.
Ashtabula tour prices are $5 for 5-18 and $10 for adults. Cash or check only, please. Since Ashtabula has no climate control, dress for the weather.

It's Thursday, June 18. Welcome to a wonderful day in beautiful Pendleton. May we recommend this plan for today? Breakfast in Pendleton. Since our town is walkable, take an easy stroll around the Village Square. Tour Ashtabula from 10-1. Lunch in Pendleton. Shop in Pendleton. Visit the Guard House, an official SC Welcome Center. More shopping and strolling around town. Maybe use the swings. Snack. Dinner in Pendleton. More strolling, swinging, and snacking. End the day at King's Chapel AME Church at 6:30 to join in the free community conversation.
The Guard House is open on the Square from 11-5. Free to visit. Ashtabula tours 10-1 are 5 dollars for 5-18 and 10 dollars for adults. Cash or check, please. Please dress for the weather. We have no climate control.

It is Wednesday, June 17th, and it's a good morning. Make it a memorable day by visiting Ashtabula Historic House during our open hours of 10-1. We look forward to welcoming you. 2725 Old Greenville Hwy (HWY 88).
After or before touring Ashtabula, have a meal in Pendleton and do a little shopping and snacking. Take a leisurely stroll around town to check out our variety of businesses. Be sure to be on the Village Green for the third of the free Wednesday night concerts during the month of June. Tonight, Howard Kim and Alan Nowell are playing contemporary music for your listening pleasure. The concerts are from 6-8. The Guard House, Pendleton's own official SC Welcome Center, will be open tonight during the concert. Come inside and visit. It's free.
