May is a busy month for older Americans – at least in terms of awareness days!
Since this month is both Older Americans Month and National Stroke Awareness Month, we thought we’d take a minute to highlight a few key stroke indicators:
1️⃣ Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body.
2️⃣ Confusion, trouble speaking or understanding speech.
3️⃣ Trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
4️⃣ Trouble walking, dizziness, or loss of balance or coordination.
5️⃣ Sudden severe headache with no known cause.
If you or a loved one experience any of these symptoms, call 911 immediately. 🏥 Remember, time is of the essence, so it’s always best to err on the side of caution.

It’s time for Women’s History Month 💜 This year’s theme is Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories, calling for all of us to honor women who have been active in various forms of media.
Here are a few podcasts by women that we recommend giving a listen:
✔️ What’sHerName – Learn about fascinating women you’ve never heard of (but should have).
✔️ Oprah’s Super Soul – Delve deeper into the world around you by listening to conversations with leaders and experts across a variety of disciplines.
✔️ A Thing or Two – Get recommendations from a pair of friends on anything from every-occasion earrings to products for the modern mom.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating! Who are some women in media, past and present, you look up to? Tell us in the comments below ⬇️

Cold and flu season has arrived with a vengeance 🤒 And chances are, you might soon be seeing evidence of a “tri-demic” of flu, RSV, and COVID. To stay healthy and safe, here are a few tips:
✅ Get vaccinated. The flu vaccine is never 100% effective, but it prevents millions of illnesses and deaths each year.
✅ Wash your hands. Wash your hands multiple times a day and use hand sanitizer if you’re unable to use soap and warm water.
✅ Get moving. People who exercise 30 to 45 minutes a day see a 40-50% reduction in the number of sick days.
✅ Keep an eye out for RSV symptoms. In a small number of cases, RSV can be dangerous for children. Look out for traditional cold symptoms plus one or more of these: rapid breathing, belly breathing, flaring of the nostrils, and grunting/wheezing.
That said, we hope everyone in your family stays well! As always, please reach out if there’s any way we can serve you.
