Huge thank you to Jax State and Dr. Ashley Turner for allowing our HOSA students to tour Dr. Turner's "worm hole" research lab. Students got hands on experience working with C. elegans and started a joint collaboration in studying variants of uncertain significance in real clinical scenarios. Such a cool experience!

3rd Yr Sports Medicine students got a visit from one of our beloved strength coaches today, Coach Eric Gibbons, as part of their Training & Conditioning unit.

Coach spoke about his educational background, his career path, his favorite athletes he's worked with, and why he loves what he does. Our favorite lesson from today was about the importance of working hard everyday and staying loyal..."Do right by your athletes and by your program, and the job opportunities will work themselves out."

3rd Yr Sports Medicine students have been working hard on their Training & Conditioning unit! They've walked, they've run, and today they HIIT! We finished the workout with an impromptu plank competition and the ladies came out victorious! And they've all worked twice as hard in the classroom! 💪

2nd year Sports Medicine students got to have some fun this week and fit each other for helmets and shoulder pads! For most students, this was the first time to put on this gear and they all gained a new appreciation for our football players 😁

Last night we got to celebrate our two senior Athletic Trainers: Katherine Bamberg and Brandy Martinez. We are so proud of all the work y'all have put into our program and you will be greatly missed!!

What a day for our HOSA Students!!
Guided by 4 of Alabama's athletic training students, we got to tour the Sport Medicine and Athletic Facilities! Our students got to talk with some of UA's Athletic Training staff, along with observing some of their skills in action while they prep for a game day.
Our own student athletic trainers got to take home top quality tape as souvenirs!! We ended the tour learning about the different paths that can be taken to become an Athletic Trainer. So thankful for this opportunity! We had a blast!!
