15,000 work of art on 3"x5" cards in an antique cabinet, The "Alternet" is a collaboration of approx. 80 artists that has traveled the country since 2013.

“The Alternet” is a collaborative project conceived and organized by artist/sculptor, Carla Rae Johnson. In 2010, Carla Rae purchased an old wooden card-catalog with fifty drawers. The catalog sat dormant in her studio for a year and a half while she contemplated how to use it. Finally, the idea emerged to honor their original function: fill the drawers with cards; hundreds of individual cards. Th
