A huge thank you to Officer Carr-Lacy and the Manvel Police Department for spending time with our students today at SMART Core Labs!

Our campers had an incredible opportunity to learn what a day in the life of a police officer looks like, ask questions, explore police equipment, and gain a deeper appreciation for the men and women who work every day to keep our communities safe.

Beyond law enforcement, the students learned valuable lessons about responsibility, teamwork, respect, and making good decisions. The excitement and curiosity in the room were contagious, and many of our young learners left inspired by what they saw and heard.

We are grateful for community partners like the Manvel Police Department who take the time to invest in the next generation.

Summer Camp | SMART Core Labs

We’re excited to introduce a special event at SmartCore Labs – Manvel:

Orbital Wars AI Scrimmage
📅 Saturday, May 2 ⏰ 2 PM – 4 PM

This is a hands-on coding competition where students will build their own battle agents using Python and compete against each other in a live scrimmage environment.

Students can choose to:
* Build a heuristic agent (simpler approach), or
* Develop a full AI-driven strategy

They’ll test, refine, and battle their agents in real time—culminating in a final tournament with prizes.

Event Details:
* Cost: $45
* Skill Level: Python Level 2 or higher
* Format: Individual or team participation
* Capacity: Limited to 16 students total

This event is designed to be both fun and challenging, giving students a chance to apply coding skills in a competitive, high-energy setting.
