The Dead Tree Ranch Collection His favorite quote: "If you*re lucky enough to live in the mountains you're lucky enough". Then the fun begins.
With his studio in Payson, AZ (home of the world's oldest continuous Rodeo) Ronn Chase, a cowboy at heart, draws on his love of the "Old West" in creating his lariat pieces. The relaxing mountains of north central Arizona provide the perfect atmosphere needed to allow his creative talents to run free. His finished pieces run from practical to whimsical. Each lariat item is hand crafted of "retired" lariat rope used by real cowboys. Since no two ropes are alike each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation. No adhesives have been used in creating your item - it is 100% lariat. Since this piece is all rope it can be used outdoors without fear of harming the piece. Although each rope has been cleaned and sanitized it is recommend that the piece not be used to handle or serve food. Lariats come in a rainbow of colors depending on the type, use or rope stiffness desired by the cowboy. The color of some lariats used may have been enhanced or changed by permanent dyes. Custom colors or shapes can be commissioned

I call this piece the "Whale Tail". It is made from a piece of dead Manzanita wood. Manzanita is an extremely hard wood and is protected. It grows at 4500 - 5500 feet above sea level (I live at 5000 feet). You can only harvest Manzanita (in AZ) from private property. This was the base of a large Manzanita tree that had died. It stands 15" tall and is ~14" from side to side and front to back. It would make a very nice centerpiece for a buffet or mantle.

For some reason this photo shows the vase as gray. It is actually Robin Egg blue as seen in the photo Stock # V0211123 Blue Vase 11"W x 12" H. Three ropes were used to create this piece ~ 105 ft. The ropes used are natural color blue (no added coloring). The darkened lines are where the rope was wrapped around the saddle horn during roping.

The Texas Mini Bowl (Mini for Texas!) This is a two rope piece 10"W x 5"H. The bottom rope is a blue/gray while the top rope is a white rope that I dyed chocolate brown. There are three 2" silver conchos with gold stars around the bowl.
