No. 13 Payson hosts No. 20 Wickenburg in a 3A Softball State Play-In Game at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner advances to the 16-team state tournament at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Payson is one of our 3A East teams finishing among the top 24 and making at least the play-in round.
Snowflake and Winslow earned byes into the state tournament based on finishing among the top eight in the rankings.
No. 14 Show Low (10-8) hosts No. 19 Kingman (10-7) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Payson finished third in the 3A East at 5-5. Show Low (4-6) finished fourth.
Snowflake (17-1 ranking games) and Winslow (16-3) both host first-round games at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27.
The final rankings and state tournament bracket will be revealed on Thursday, April 25 after the play-in round.
The quarterfinals are at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1 at the high seed. The semifinals are at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at Papago Softball Complex in Phoenix.
The final is on Saturday, May 11, with time and location to be determined.
