The Payson Bardschool

Starting next week (March 14th) this weekly event at the Huish PACE Center will be held on Thursdays, and will no longer be called the "Payson Bardschool."

Thank you to everyone who has attended and supported this important community over the last 6 months, we hope you'll continue to support this and other events at the Huish going forward. Please be sure to follow for updates on that.

This isn't necessarily goodbye for the Payson Bardschool either. We'll be thinking on how/when/where the Payson Bardschool can live on in the near future, so stay tuned.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Based on the feedback we received, we are changing things up: Every week will now just be "Open Mic", with not specific theme.

We still encourage all of you poets, storytellers, and songwriters to come and share and participate, but you no longer need to keep track of which night is when.

We've received some feedback and we're making a slight change. Though the goal is to work are way to a proper Slam, for the immediate future we will just hold Poetry Open Mics.

Tomorrow night! Come sign up, share original or non-original poetry, and let's build ourselves a thriving poetry community here in Payson.

Storytelling night tomorrow!
Even among the music, poetry, and creation we've experienced in past weeks, storytelling really holds a special and unique place for our little budding community.

Come share a story--personal, historical, mythical--or come just to listen and you might get to be apart of something both new and old at the same time.

Next Tuesday is Storytellers night. Anyone can come and tell a story, read a story, recite a story, makeup a story, whatever suits you.

Tonight is Open Mic night!

Next Tuesday is our Poetry Slam!

We know poetry can be scary, but come give it a try. It's the ultimate act of creative courage.

A poem can be anything. Funny, sad, thoughtful, sarcastic, etc. It doesn't have to rhyme, doesn't have to fit any kind of box. It's just something in your soul.

There's 2 rounds, so participants need 2 original poems prepared (though we won't turn you away if you have 1!). Max length ~3 minutes. Family-friendly please.

In between rounds we'll have interlude where anyone can come up and read a poem by a favorite author.
