With the year coming to an end, and a few new friends and faces on here, I thought I’d share a few things about myself to know me better!

9 years ago I decorated my first cake as a grocery store cake decorator. Back in 2020 I picked it back up and haven’t stopped!

Music and dance hold a special place in my heart. If you’ve seen a woman in Utah county jamming in her car like nobody’s watching, good chance it was me.

I have the most loving, supportive husband and just introduced the third little into our family. He is perfect šŸ˜

Speaking of my perfect little man, this last pregnancy I craved 2 things above all else…Wendy’s biggie bags and Costa Vida. Don’t judge. Despite being born very small, my cravings earned little man the nickname ā€œbiggieā€.

I am seriously afraid of heights! Tried Angels Landing….probably made it 10 feet into the chained part before turning around šŸ˜…

Traveling is one of my very favorite things! A few of my favorite places have been Costa Rica, Italy, and Spain. Traveling abroad has slowed since having littles but I’d love to visit Greece and Croatia in the upcoming years.

Thank you so much for your support and following along on my cake journey. It means the world šŸ«¶šŸ½

And a huge thank you to Kortney for capturing a moment with me and the cake. It’s not often I get pictures of myself with my work, so THANK YOU for this treasure!!

Delicate sugar flowers will always have my heart.

Have you considered the benefits to including sugar flowers in your cake design?

They’re food safe. Some flowers, although beautiful, are poisonous and should be avoided when considering your cake design. These include but are not limited to baby’s breath, tulips, hydrangeas, foxglove, etc. And even if a flower is not poisonous by nature, using sugar flowers is a great way to keep pesticides and other unwanted chemicals out of your cake!

The color options are unlimited! Because they’re made with gum paste or wafer paper, they can be made in nearly any color to match your special day.

They serve as the sweetest keepsake. Unlike real flowers that die, sugar flowers when stored properly (out of humidity) can last almost indefinitely. I’ve had couples place their wedding cake sugar flowers in a vase creating a beautiful arrangement to remind them of their big day.

They’re always in season. Unlike real flowers, you’re not limited by what flowers are currently in season. The sky’s the limit!

Now, it may sound like I’m a real flower hater, I promise I’m not! Sugar flowers are an investment, and aren’t for everyone, but are definitely worth considering if any of those benefits spoke to you!

With fall colors quickly fading, I’m hoping to immortalize these warm leaves on this fall inspired cake by giving it a place on my feed.

Each edible wafer paper leaf was cut, hand painted, and shaped with love šŸ

Thank you for the tools to confidently create these gorgeous maple leaves!!
