We reach the age of adulthood and think wrinkles, fine lines, discoloration, oh my! Then BAM! Some of us experience blemishes (aka acne, minor or not so minor.) Aren’t we lucky!
The big question is why? Here’s a few reasons you may get adult acne, or unwanted blemishes here and there.

•Hormone changes: Whether it be menstruation, birth control, or menopause, it can affect the skins oil production and how your skin cells shed. Making our skin say hmm.

•Stress: When our body is stressed it produces more hormones, which again increases oil production. Also stress related habits, to much caffeine and not enough sleep also can lead to acne.

•Cosmetics: I know I love me some good makeup, however certain makeups may not agree with our skin. Paying attention to our cosmetics (especially if we have changed something up) is almost as important as washing our skin after wearing it… I said ALMOST! 😜 Clogged pores=acne

•Diet: I’ve said it before and will say it again. Our diet does contribute to our skins health! A bad diet can lead to more sebum production and lead to acne. No, a chocolate bar isn’t going to give you a breakout, but a bad diet can definitely make our skin say yikes!

This has always been a hard one for me! On occasion,(especially winter) I have to remind myself to apply sunscreen! Let’s keep our skin safe and healthy together!
