MONUMENTAL VICTORY FOR HORSES! 🐴

A massive congratulations to and all of the activists in Philly and the surrounding areas who worked on this!

Because of their work, horses will no longer drag humans through the streets of Philadelphia.

Time for New York City to follow Philadelphia’s lead and ban cruel horse-drawn carriages!

We need to have a serious talk about the internet algorithm, because it is criminally burying one of the absolute best dogs in our entire rescue. That’s Grey.

Everyone always says, "I want a dog, but I don’t want the puppy bu****it. I want a dog who is already house trained, good with kids, and can go to breweries with me."

Well, Grey is sitting right here checking every single one of those boxes, and yet her adoption file is completely silent. Why? Because she isn't a tiny 8-week-old fluffy puppy.

Let's look at the actual facts of how perfect this 4-5 year old, 50-pound girl is:

✅ Toddler Approved: She has been around kids as young as three years old. She doesn't just "tolerate" them; she is exceptionally gentle, calmly accepting hugs, kisses, and toddler nonsense like an absolute saint. 🧒❤️

✅ Dog Social: She is confident, playful, and loves medium to large dogs who can keep up with her goofy style. 🐕

✅ 100% Trained: Fully house trained, fully crate trained (sleeps like a log all night), and already knows Sit, Stay, Come, Down, and Wait. She walks like a dream on a Gentle Leader. 🎓

✅ The Ultimate Copilot: She lives for car rides. Beaches, hikes, dog-friendly patios, running errands—if you are going, she is in the front seat ready to roll. 🚗🏖️

Her Quirks? She has a non-negotiable obsession with her Chuckit ball, literally tosses her own toys into the air to catch them, and does a hilarious little high-stepping pony trot when she’s excited. 🎾

Her Only Rule: Absolutely NO cats. She’s too much dog for a feline. Also, when she gets wildly excited, she might gently mouth your hand, but a quick "no" redirects her instantly. She is rarely vocal and has zero aggression. 🐈 🛑

Grey is 50 pounds of pure, pre-trained, loving gold. She doesn't want to live out her prime years in a foster home. She deserves a best friend to share life with.

🗓️ COME MEET HER IN PERSON THIS SATURDAY: Grey will be hanging out at our Sandy Paws Rescue: Paws & Pints Craft Fair adoption event this Saturday. Our goal is to make this the absolute LAST adoption event she ever has to attend. She has waited long enough. Let's find her people.

✨ Do not let the algorithm hide her today. Drop a comment, share this to your stories, and force Facebook to show this girl's face to the world.

Let’s call it exactly what it is, because we are sick of watching the algorithm bury her. Lexi is suffering from Black Dog Syndrome.

She arrived in our care on February 9, 2026, as a tiny puppy rescued from a horrific hoarding situation along with her sisters. Since then, she has watched every single one of her sisters get adopted. Meanwhile, Lexi has spent the last four months literally growing up in a foster home because people keep scrolling past her black fur.

And want to know the biggest tragedy? She is, without exaggeration, a PERFECT dog.

Kids? Absolutely adores them. 🧒❤️

Cats? She literally lives with one right now and is totally fine. 🐱

Other dogs? Her absolute favorite thing. 🐕🐾

Water? A total swimming machine. 🌊🏊‍♀️

Size? The perfect, goldilocks size.

She has been to more adoption events than we can even count. Everyone meets her, everyone says she’s amazing, and then... nothing. No applications.

Lexi has done everything right. She survived hoarding, she conquered puppy training, and she spreads pure joy everywhere she goes. She does not deserve to be invisible.

Do us a favor: beat the algorithm bu****it today. Do not just double-tap and move on. Comment. Share this post. Drop an emoji. Force Facebook to show her face to the world so we can finally find this perfect girl her forever couch. 🛋️🖤

I Saved Your Leash!

I couldn't throw it away.

I tried once.

Picked it up...
held it in my hands...

and stood there for a long time.

But I couldn't do it.

Because that leash isn't just a leash.

It's Saturday mornings.

It's excited circles by the front door.

It's muddy paws and long walks that somehow fixed bad days.

It's you.

So I saved it.

It's still hanging where it always hung.

Waiting.

Not because I think you'll come running around the corner.

But because some things deserve to stay.

Some things become sacred after goodbye.

Sometimes I walk past it and smile.

Sometimes I walk past it and cry.

And sometimes...

I reach out and touch it.

Just for a second.

Because my fingers remember what my heart never forgot.

The gentle pull.

The happy urgency.

The way you'd look back at me as if every walk was the greatest adventure ever created.

That leash once connected us.

One end in my hand.

One end in your world.

And maybe...

in a strange way...

it still does.

Not through sidewalks and parks anymore.

But through memories.

Through love.

Through all the moments that continue to live long after the walk has ended.

People might see an old leash.

A worn piece of fabric.

Something that should have been packed away long ago.

But I see a lifetime.

I see loyalty.

I see joy.

I see a best friend who turned ordinary days into treasured memories.

So yes...

I saved your leash.

Because letting go of an object was easy.

Letting go of what it represents was impossible.

And truthfully...

I don't want to.

Because every time I see it hanging there...

I'm reminded that some journeys never really end.

They simply continue...

inside the heart.

Forever connected.

Forever loved.

Forever my walking partner. 🐾❤️
