Lower Utility Costs Now!
Attend the RI Senate Finance Committee on Thursday, May 21 at 4PM in Room 211 at the RI State House 82 Smith Street, Providence, RI 02903
Speak out against high utility rates. It is time to implement a Percentage Income Payment Plan (PIPP). Senate Bill # 2026-S2248: Creates an income-sensitive tiered subsidy program to ensure that home energy utility costs are affordable for low-income households.
If the legislator fails at passing PIPP this session Rhode Islanders will continue to burdened with unaffordable utility costs. Legislators can make a difference to make utilities affordable.

PIPP is a clear, common-sense policy that has been advocated for year after year. We demand that legislators support and approve an effective approach to lower utilities costs to a total of 6% of income for low-income Rhode Islanders. Every year PIPP isn't passed, working class and low-income utility consumers continue to pay higher percentages of income toward utility bills compared to other consumers. Without PIPP people will continue to unfairly face utility terminations because of the legislators’ lack of passing this needed bill.
