📸: A Legacy That Lives On

Nearly two and a half years after the passing of beloved Sussex County Miners broadcaster Bret Leuthner, his memory continues to echo throughout Skylands Stadium.

Before Sunday’s game, Bret’s son, Trevor, took the mound to deliver the ceremonial first pitch to one of his father’s closest friends and longtime broadcast partner, Sean Bretherick.

It was a touching tribute to a voice that helped tell the story of Miners baseball for so many years and a reminder that the bonds formed through this game extend far beyond the field.

Bret’s legacy lives on through the people he inspired, the friendships he built, and the memories he helped create.

For the first time in over two weeks, the Sussex County Miners return home to Skylands Stadium tonight to take on the visiting Brockton Rox.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Two former teammates do battle tonight as New Jersey Jackals right-hander Sonny Fauci opposes New York Boulders southpaw Alex Barker during a Friday night showdown at historic Hinchliffe Stadium.

First pitch is set for 6:35pm.

The New Jersey Jackals cruised to victory over the New York Boulders on Thursday night behind three home runs, including two from left fielder Luis Encarnacion.

Starting pitcher Billy Duby impressed on the mound as well with seven strong innings of work to earn the victory.

The team looks to keep their hot streak alive when they return home to Hinchliffe Stadium tonight to face the Boulders at 6:35pm.

Prior to coaching, Guzman had extensive playing experience spanning multiple Independent teams, including the Somerset Patriots, Rockland Boulders, Trois-Riveries Aigles, Camden Riversharks, Newark Bears and even the Jackals back in 2012!
