Remembering 🙏🏼
🌊🇺🇸 This Friday, Governor Tate Reeves has declared Hurricane Katrina Remembrance Day in Mississippi, marking 20 years since the storm forever changed our state.
On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall near the Mississippi-Louisiana border, claiming the lives of hundreds of Mississippians, displacing hundreds of thousands more, and caused over $125 billion in property damage.
🕰️ At 8:29 a.m., all Mississippians are asked to pause for a statewide moment of silence — honoring the lives lost, recognizing the resilience of our communities, and reflecting on our journey of recovery and hope. ☀️
