Columbia Basin College (CBC) today announced the college chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is hosting its 3’° annual Wear Pajama Day. Today’s campus event launches a month-long NEW clothing collection| campaign for victim teens and kids of domestic strife in our region. PTK is partnering with the Department of Children Youth and Families to secure substantial quantities of NEW pajamas and sweats in all kid sizes (nb-teen), toiletries, backpacks, stuffies and books for local youth suddenly displaced from their homes - often late at night - due to family hardship and domestic strife. Children often arrive at the DCYF agency scared, confused and with only the clothes on
their back. PTK hopes to heighten awareness of this issue and to provide gifts of comfort to youth in need!!
The event includes: Wednesday, February 25, 9am - 1pm, Gjerde Atrium: campus urged to wear their pajamas and fill the
multiple collection bin with supplies and enjoy donuts and cocoa.
Wednesday, February 25 - Friday, March 20:: collection bins available at following CBC drop off locations: Thorton Courtyard T-Building - Pasco Rec & Wellness Ctr Reception - Pasco
Gjerde Atrium Hawk Central - Pasco Early Childhood Learning Ctr A-Bldg - Pasco
Health Science Ctr Student Lounge-Richland
Items of most need include:
• New pajamas/sweats in ALL sizes for both boys and girls are greatly appreciated,
• Our greatest needs are sizes 10/12 and teen sizes S, M, L, and XL.
• Toiletries help provide comfort and dignity during a difficult time.
• New, cuddly stuffed animals always bring smiles and reassurance.
• Children’s books for all ages offer comfort, escape, and hope.
• New backpacks help children keep their belongings safe and together.

Graduation is June 18th at the Toyota Center! For information on which of the three ceremonies your degree falls under, please visit the CBC graduation webpage. You will also find detailed information on how/when you can pickup your cap/gown! Don’t forget to meet with your completion coaches and get those graduation applications in!
