Effective January 1, 2022, Anglin Flewelling & Rasmussen LLP (AFRCT) will merge with Pasadena-based law firm, Lagerlof, LLP. Few would disagree that 2020 has been one of the most challenging years in our lifetime. We’ve dealt with a global pandemic, civil unrest and a contentious presidential election. We’ve learned new terms like “social distancing” and “flatten the curve,” and have come to miss the simple joys of life like handshakes, family gatherings and indoor dining. Many businesses and workers continue to endure great financial hardship. And as is often the case, these hard times have exposed the ugliness in some and the beauty in others.
Yet there remains much to be thankful for. We still live in the greatest country on earth, even with our challenges. We are thankful for you, our friends and clients. We are thankful to have remained very busy helping clients migrate through these unique times. We are also thankful for the technology that has allowed us to seamlessly move to remote offices and virtual meetings – there was no zoom even a decade ago! And in the meantime, we are excited to take advantage of this transition time to make some important upgrades:
1. Remodeling
During this period when most of us are working remotely, we have embarked on an extensive remodeling of our Pasadena office, making it even more efficient, with further technological advances and office configurations that will serve us well for years to come. We are also making sure that our space is welcoming and a place that our clients can easily access. We look forward to having you visit once the restrictions from the current pandemic are softened. Construction is currently scheduled to be completed in mid-February, 2021.
2. Name Change
The AFRCT LLP initials have always been a bit of a struggle for some to explain. I’ve been asked more than once about the duck in our commercials, confusing us with AFLAC! The acronym was necessary because of the long firm name, but with Robin Campbell (the “C”) having retired to Park City, Utah several years ago, and the mutual separation with Steve Trytten (the “T”) in 2019, we have amended the firm name to simply be: Anglin Flewelling & Rasmussen LLP. We will continue to use the AFRCT acronym as appropriate, and you should feel free to do the same if you prefer, but you may notice the difference in our communications going forward.
We hope that you and your family are healthy and able to enjoy a blessed Thanksgiving. We look forward to seeing you soon.
