Talk about a big day worth celebrating!
Hailey joined Huff Insurance one year ago today — on her birthday — with no insurance experience. Since then, she has jumped in, learned the industry, earned her insurance license, and become a valuable part of our Personal Lines team.
We’re proud of how much Hailey has accomplished in just one year, and we’re excited to see what year two brings!

🚨 SATURDAY SHORT: Is Insurance Like Organized Crime?
We’ve all heard the comparison…
“Insurance is basically organized crime. You pay them for protection.” 😎
Hear me out before you start typing. 😂
Okay… there is one similarity.
You pay an insurance company for protection.
But there’s a pretty BIG difference. 😂
If you stop paying organized crime for protection, at least according to the movies, they may be the reason something bad happens.
Stop paying your insurance premium?
We’re not breaking kneecaps.
We’re not torching the house.
We’re not sending Vinny over to “have a conversation.” 😂
Your policy gets canceled—and if something bad happens afterward, there may be no coverage to pay the claim.
So yes… you pay us for protection.
Just a slightly different business model. 😎

🐿️ Friday Fun Insurance Fact: The same squirrel can be an insurance problem in two completely different ways.
🏠 Squirrel gets into your house and causes damage? Damage caused by rodents is typically excluded under a homeowners insurance policy.
🚗 Squirrel gets under the hood and chews up your car’s wiring? That damage may be covered if you carry comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance policy.
Same squirrel. Same teeth. Very different insurance answer. 😂
That’s why you can’t assume something excluded on one policy is automatically excluded on another.
And apparently Bailey chasing them around the yard is doing his part for loss prevention. 🐶
Today we celebrated Hailey’s upcoming birthday. Her birthday is not until next week but we celebrated today since everybody was in the office.

Sometimes “I’m struggling to get this done” really means…
“I haven’t made it a priority and taken action yet.”
There’s actually something powerful about admitting that.

“Getting by” can be a whole lot harder than getting ahead.
When you’re constantly making excuses, changing the story, cutting corners or trying to remember what you told who, life gets stressful fast.
It becomes a house of cards. Eventually, something shakes the table.
There’s a simpler way.
Do what’s right because it’s right. Tell the truth. Keep your word. Own your mistakes.
You may not always make the easiest decision, but you’ll never have to waste energy remembering which version of the story you told.
Getting ahead isn’t just about success.
