Class tonight at 7:00. Don’t forget to bring your sparring gear!!

06/01/2026

I am looking forward to class tonight at 7:00. Please remember that since Memorial has passed you are allowed to remove your uniform top and wear a “T” shirt instead. Please note that you must wear your top for warm ups and can take it off during break. As I asked before if you know of a place where we could have a pool party this Summer please let me know. If you have an idea for another type of Summer time class activity, please pass that on to me also.

May God bless,
Wayne

I just wanted to remind everyone that class on Memorial Day is cancelled in observance of the holiday. Please also note that starting with the first class after Memorial Day, your uniform tops may be removed for class after warmups. We still need everyone in full uniform when we pray, start class and for warmups. You may remove them during break. If your group is working on throws, and some self-defense, it may be wise to wear you top to prevent ripped t-shirts.
Have a good holiday weekend. Please remember our veterans, those that gave it all and those currently serving in the military.

May God bless,

Wayne J. Hertz

From Wayne:

I hope this reaches you well. We have a conflict with space at Pasadena this Monday, May 4th. There is an event going on in the space on Tuesday and the group wants to get in and decorate on Monday. Since we are guests, we need to concede to the other group. However, Pastor Glenn is trying to be as accommodating with us as he can by offering us another space. It is smaller but I think we can make it work. If the weather is accommodating, we might even have some students working out in the parking lot. For this reason, please wear, or bring with you, athletic shoes, or something else, you can work out in. Attached is a photo of the door we should use to enter the space for Monday, May 4, 2026. There is also a door entering from the back parking lot if you want to park there and enter the space from the parking lot. This is a one-time thing so the following week we will be back in the cafeteria/gym area as usual. Spectator seating may be limited.

We look forward to seeing you all at class tonight at 7:00!

03/23/2026

Tonight is the first night of the test. Please arrive early and get warmed up so we can start promptly at 6:30. We have two nights to complete the test since we lost last week. We might need to use class time on April 6 to finish the test, but I hope this will not be necessary. If you are not testing and are willing to help with sparring, please let me know. I have one person who has already offered to help; I could use a couple more. See you tonight!!

I do not know if you have heard yet, but Anne Arundel county schools are closing two hours early today in anticipation of bad weather that is heading our way. This means that class is cancelled. I know it is the test. Hopefully, we will get everything in during the two remaining weeks in March, the 23rd and 30th. If not, then we will finish on April 6th. On March 23rd, please arrive early, get bowed onto the floor, get yourself stretched out, and warmed up so we can start precisely at 6:30pm. If you are not testing and would like to help out with sparring, please let me know this week. I already made up the sparring partners list but still have a few holes if you are willing to be a sparring partner. On the 23rd and 30th we will only be testing. No instructional class will be going on.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

May God bless,

Wayne J. Hertz
