Throughout February, Western Asset celebrated US Black History Month with a series of events aimed toward honoring Black history and culture. This included a joint event called "The Business of Investment Management" hosted along with the Firm’s strategic partner, the Los Angeles National Black MBA Association. Panelists reflected on their careers and shared their perspectives regarding opportunities within the investment management industry.

The Firm also welcomed Dr. Christina Hector to our New York office for a discussion on leveraging exercise as a tool for professional and personal success.

Western Asset continues to celebrate Women’s History Month with engaging speakers like Diana Hernandez Wayne who led a discussion on leveraging your greatest asset—your unique values.

Happy US Black History Month! Western Asset continues to celebrate throughout February with a series of firmwide events organized by the Firm’s Black Heritage Network. These events aim to recognize the contributions of Black people throughout US history and celebrate Black culture. They include community-building luncheons and line dancing, a virtual tour of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland, and collaborative events with Franklin Templeton and our other specialist investment manager partners.

Western Asset recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month by inviting Renee L Brown, the Mental Mechanic and breast cancer survivor, to share her toolkit for building character currency and overcoming obstacles. We thank her for the inspiring talk!
