These are always impossible to convey without sorrow, tears, something hopefully to bring a little bit of comedic relief to what is a very sad day for all the family, friends, and people that had the honor to say that they knew Chris, worked with Chris, raced for Chris, invited for a meal with Chris as they walked by the paddock of CRM. For most racers, friend or foe, a home cooked meal by Michel was a way of bringing a celebration to an on track success or extending an olive branch just possibly for his or one of his drivers on track altercation. Chris was always the guy working from sunrise until far beyond sunset to make sure everything was ready to go for first practice the next day, even though he would arrive 3 hours before anyone else! The ultimate professional in the way he thought things should be run, he didn't need to be the biggest he needed to be the best provider of a racing service and be one of the slickest looking while doing it! From a cadet to a KZ Chris was at your disposal to help tune and coach your driving to the last possible tenth of a second. Downloading data and showing you electronically where you were acing the apex or not getting the most out of what you could achieve. I can go on all day of what a great person he was, what an incredible friend and loyal customer of mine for so many years but in summarizing Chris as most of us knew him was the most competitive, loyal, and accommodating people you can ever have the honor to be around. A work and play ethic of never ever giving up, no matter what the situation, the pain, the exhaustion level of a terrible disease. You will be missed Chris but we all know you'll be waiting, checkered flag in hand for our own last lap with either a slap on the back or you missed the apex in 5, 7, 8 which made you too slow in 9 and finishing our own lap of the universe! ❤
