Happy Giving Tuesday! If you are plugged into a great cause, then show them your support. Great people start great initiatives, which create great communities.

Number #4.. check this out: "60 percent of organizations with government grants and contracts count those grants and contracts as their largest funding source." What do you think? Should government funds make for such a large percentage of organizational funding?

Next up, #3: "government funding accounts for over 65 percent of total revenue." Rule of thumb - It is not advisable that 25% of funding come from one single source.

Tid bit #2: "the average is six contracts and grants per organization; the median is three." Imagine the impact of contracts that go unfulfilled!

Interesting tid bit #1: "government agencies have approximately 200,000 formal agreements (contracts and grants) with about 33,000 human service nonprofit organizations�." - The next one is even better :)

Question for the masses: Do you expect a steady stream of value from the organizations you sponsor through feedback about how your money (donation) is spent? Do you feel that you have all the info you need about the charities you support, or does there seem to be a gap between you and "them?"

Wow. These "charities" are using over 90% of their received donations for administrative and fundraising costs. We think this is unacceptable. Bequest is committed to providing an incredibly low price so that nonprofits can flourish and accomplish their missions. Give Smart!
