"A favorite pre-gait exercise! This helps to lengthen your step, increase balance over your prosthesis, and prepares you to take the next step! Think about tightening up alllll the muscles inside your socket to help stabilize your limb against that posterior wall. As you step to the farthest target, the goal should be to balance directly over the toe box area of your prosthetic foot. Once your sound limb hits the target, relax all the muscles inside the socket for a second, then re-tighten them to get back to that starting position.
