YATP- Young Adult Transition Program
The Young Adult Transition Program is part of the Papillion La Vista Community Schools.
The YATP (Young Adult Transition Program) is a program for students in special education who are 18-21 years of age. The curriculum focuses on functional and vocational academics, communication, and socialization, to help students prepare for post-secondary employment and life. Ms. Kelly Aschwege is the 2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year, and she earned every bit of it. As a para at Papillion La Vista High School, Kelly builds meaningful relationships with students, and she celebrates every single win. How many wins? Her colleagues counted 384 "cowbell emails" she sent last year cheering on students who earned credits.

Due to inclement weather conditions, Papillion La Vista Community Schools will be closed on Friday, February 20, 2026. All PLCS Foundation Kids Club sites will be closed as well. Decisions regarding Friday evening activities will be communicated on Friday afternoon by athletic/activity directors, coaches, and activity sponsors.

Due to the National Weather Service's Cold Weather Advisory and inclement weather conditions, Papillion La Vista Community Schools will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026. All PLCS Foundation Kids Club sites will be closed as well.
As the Cold Weather Advisory expires at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, athletics and activities will resume as scheduled after 12:00 p.m.

The Community Closet event scheduled for this Saturday, January 24th has been postponed. We don't have a new date yet, but we'll share that information as soon as it's available.
