Congratulations to the many who stood up for No Kings! Day. It is a little ironic that June 14 is also Flag Day. Locally, June 14 helps to celebrate the great Matanuska Colony Experiment which intended to help folks who were struggling. Government funding is often like a big insurance policy for us all. We hope we never need the help after a natural (or unnatural) disaster or a downturn on our family economics or a debilitating illness or protection from unfair or dangerous sittings. However, when we need help, it is nice to have it available.

Democrats and friends had a lively discussion with Amy Bushatz of the MatSu Sentinel at our May Egan dinner at Turkey Red. The small group size gave everyone a chance to hear Amy's perspective on local news. If you haven't already, please check out MatSu Sentinel. It's a non-profit enterprise and she seems to be everywhere, covering the local news of the borough and its cities.
