Another call today to finish a job that one of these local YouTube university graduate “locksmiths” started but couldn’t finish. This was a Nissan Sentra prox twist ignition. 30 minutes later and another satisfied customer

Time to blow my own horn again. Yesterday got a call to biglake to get keys programmed into a ford. Customer had one programmed key. Another “locksmith” graduate of YouTube university with YouTube credentials had been there twice. He was trying to add two new keys. In the process he deleted the customers original key and was not able to get any keys programmed so the car would start. It took me 4-5 tries and about 30-40 minutes and I had all 3 keys programmed and starting the car. Another satisfied customer

Just had a call from a really nice sounding older lady. She said she lost her car keys in her house and was wondering if I had some way to find them? Told her if she couldn’t find them then I probably couldn’t either . She said she “didn’t know if you would have some sort of super magnet “ or something to find her keys. Never heard that one before. I did usta carry a metal detector around in the winter. I explained her options to her and advised that she just keeps looking for the key

Second time this month that I have calls to finish jobs that another locksmith had started. Both times he had cut keys but wasn’t able to program them. He leaves the customers for multiple weeks and (according to the customers) wont return calls. Earlier this month I was out of state but was able to give a different locksmith some pointers and he was able to complete the job that the original locksmith couldn’t finish. Then yesterday I went out and completed the second job myself. I don’t understand how someone can cut keys, go to the vehicle, not be able to program keys, and then just leave customers hanging for several weeks. If I can’t do a job I tell my customers that and attempt to steer them to where they might be able to get it done.
