Trail ride Thursday

Transitions, that is what we teach. Quiet clear transitions. But sometimes, the transitions are not simple changes in the speed or direction of the horse, but are additionally the transition of the rider into caring, hardworking, thoughtful and educated horsewomen.

This year I had the pleasure of inviting Emily Brassard and Amy Parmenter from Bearlee Photography to my place to capture some of the amazing students that I have had the opportunity to work with this year. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them all, but I have watched this group of young girls grow into young women. Some of them head off to college this year, and we will be but a memory of the hours spent dusty dirty, working hard and loving these horses we share our journey with. They have supported each other through all sorts of challenges, and their ties to each other and the horses are no small thing.

Personally, I cannot put into words how grateful I am to have been able to teach for this long. It is an honor and a privilege to guide these young people into the world of the horse. Yes it is a great thing to be in the ribbons ( we all love that too) but its the daily showing up, the friendly nicker, the softness of the horse kiss and that magic when you know you and your horse are doing something you both understand and love.

We have a big and important Birthday coming up for Matthew Beetch. ( He's going to be 40!) In celebration, we are having a party- Barbeque, Dancing , and all the fun! 4-6PM on July 13, 2024. Well it is officially cold this morning. So happy to have a heated barn to warm up chilly ponies !
