As a black owned business, it’s important the voices of people that look like us are heard and acknowledged. We’re grateful for everyone that has shown support by sharing info on social media, using hashtags, etc. But if you’re wanting to do more than just post online, here are a few extra ways to take action.
1. Advocate: Have open conversations with people directly affected by this. Ask questions if there’s something you don’t understand. Speak up and show support by using your voice and platform.
2. Donate: Not everyone has to be in the streets protesting. Donate to organizations that are working towards ending police brutality and racial injustice.
3. Educate: Educate yourself on racism, black activism and the meaning behind Black Lives Matter.
4. Vote: Vote in all elections (National, State and Local). There are strength in numbers and we have more power than we realize. Spend time educating yourself on politicians and the power they have in your community.
