Hello HEALNet Friends! My job at Regional Access Project (RAP) Foundation is ending this Monday, April 30th! This HEALNet FB Page will be inactive or discontinued. If you would like to continue connecting with me, I invite you to join me on FB at Diana Nancy De Leon! The HEALNet Project is moving to Desert Healthcare District on May 1. If you have questions please contact staff at (760) 363-6113. It's been fun to provide you with HEALNet updates and information! Where we live, learn, work and play matters to our health.The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute have released the third annual County Health Rankings. Nearly every county in the country is ranked on health outcomes such as how healthy we are and on health factors such as how healthy we can be. Examples of specific measures used to calculate the rankings include: adult smoking, obesity, binge drinking, access to primary care physicians, rates of high school graduation, rates of violent crime, air pollution levels, unemployment rates and number of children living in poverty. This information helps counties see where they are doing well and where improvement is needed to ensure that every community is a healthy place to live, learn, work and play. County Health Rankings & Roadmaps The County Health Rankings show us that where we live matters to our health. The health of a community depends on many different factors - ranging from health behaviors, education and jobs, to quality of health care, to the environment.
Happy Public Health - HEAL - Week! Effective Monday, April 30th my position at RAPF will end. The good news is the HEALNet Project will continue!!! It's returning to the Desert Healtcare District in May. During this transition phase, I invite you to continue making HEAL a priority in your life and work! Life is precious and HEALTH does matter! Let's put prevention to work! There is much HEAL work to be done!
