JULY 5 | Workshop and/or Performance Options | Time on the String and The Grand Lodge
Natalie (cello) and Brittany (fiddle) Haas, American acoustic string musicians and composers are coming to Paducah for workshop/performance!
YOU CAN attend both (workshop and performance) or pick and choose!!
Sisters Natalie (cello) and Brittany (fiddle) Haas began their musical lives together, filling their childhood home with Bach suites and old-time tunes alike. It was on their own, however-following divergent paths through disparate musical traditions, countries, and cultures-that they both arrived as virtuosi and composers at the highest levels of contemporary string music. Fans of acoustic music can hardly mention one without referencing the other’s work. It is a collaboration a lifetime in the making, and a music encompassing travels through time and through the world. From Nashville to Norway, the Celtic Isles to California, Natalie and Brittany have absorbed, adapted, and made their own world of music. The result? HAAS. WORKSHOP: Learn a tune by ear, delve deep into stylistic ideas including left and right hand techniques, and explore all the ways to provide back up for it including harmonies, riffs, basic chordal substitutions, shuffling, chopping, and creating a cohesive arrangement with many repetitions of the same melody. All bowed stringed instruments welcome.

We are so proud to celebrate Reid DuPerrieu as our Student of the Month!
Reid is a motivated violinist who has been making big strides lately. He has recently learned how to play duets, including how to play an accompanying harmony part to a melody. He also recently learned how to sight read music, and we could not be more proud of his hard work.
Keep it up, Reid! We are so excited to keep watching you grow as a musician.
We are really excited about having the Haas Sisters in Paducah, KY on July 5th! Mark your calendars and make plans to attend! We will be offering a workshop with them at Time on the String from 3:00-4:00, and they will be performing at the Grand Lodge that night from 6:30-8:00. Keep an eye out for tickets!

Today we are celebrating 10 Years of Time on the String with a then and now of our very first student, Griffin Holland!
10 years ago, this formally began in a tiny secretary’s office inside the old Coke Plant, after 23 years of teaching privately in many different spaces.
One student. One lesson. Just trying to make something work.
Since then, it’s grown into something I could have never fully pictured back then.
In September 2024, we moved into our new facility, a space that finally matches the vision we have been building toward for a decade. And it did not happen by accident.
It is because of:
The incredible teachers who show up every day and care deeply about their students
The students who trust us, stick with it, and grow into musicians and people
The families who support each student behind the scenes
And my own family, who have carried this with me from the very beginning
This has never just been a business. It is a community.
We have had a lot of late nights, a lot of uncertainty, and a lot of moments where we just kept going, and somehow here we are.
10 years in, and it still feels like we are just getting started.
Thank you to our community for being part of it!
