Branching Out Adventures

If you've been to an event with us, you've probably heard some variation of the question, "if you were really really small, where around us would you live?"

We figured it out! Inside the wildflowers at Mori Point (like the bumblebees we founds sleeping in flowers)!!

HUGE thanks to for hosting us last week. It was a magical morning of collecting seeds, while staring at superblooms over the ocean. Unforgettable!

Did you know that we have five species of banana slugs in California?? That's right, the spotted ones are a totally separate species! The bananas aren't just getting more ripe!

A few weeks ago, we got to go to Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. it was a day of banana slugs, large trees, and wonderful community! We have been loving spending more time in Sonoma County.

It's Earth Day!

🌎🌏 It's a day to celebrate the planet we live on, but also what makes it so special. Plants, animals, and fungus have spent millions of years evolving to fill countless niches. Nature has created a vast variety of colors, shapes, and life strategies that prove to us time and time again that there is no singular natural way to exist. 🌈🌄

We see that in q***r ecology too. There isn't a right way to exist, so all we can do is come as we are, and find joy in the uniqueness of it all. Thank you for being you to our wonderful planet and all the life on it as we celebrate Earth Day!

This April rain reminds us of the trips we've done camping in the rain! It's so magical to see how water falling from the sky makes the landscape glow. We're excited to see you all out here soon! Stay tuned for the camping trips this. year, but in the meantime, we've got lots coming up!

🌲We spend a lot of time organizing for our community, but also what a rare joy to organize for ourselves! 🌲

We recently received a grant that paid for us to treat ourselves! For a remote organization like us, any opportunity to spend time together in person is so meaningful. We spent a weekend exploring redwoods, basking in the sun, and having discussions on what sort of things we can offer to you all in the coming year!

As spring and summer arrive, we are so excited to share this joy with each of you! See you all soon!

Last weekend, Grassroots Ecology and Branching Out Adventures worked together to remove invasive species from Bear Creek Redwood. We laughed, we talked, we pretended to take pictures as if our French broom plants were fish that we just caught. All around this event was *chefs kiss*.

☀️🌊 Is there a better way to spend a weekend than looking for baby elephant seals?! We don't think so! Last weekend, we partnered with to host a q***r hike to see elephant seals during breeding season! After a morning of looking a babies, avoiding seals on trail, and sharing in q***r community, we are happy to report back....☀️🌊
