State Technical College of Missouri Heavy Equipment Operations & Management student Cole is spending his summer internship with Excel Utility Contractors gaining valuable hands-on experience in the utility construction industry.

Internships are an important part of the Heavy Equipment Operations & Management program, providing students with opportunities to build industry connections, strengthen their technical skills, and gain confidence in the field.

This year, we were excited to welcome four interns to our team. We’re eager to see the skills and knowledge they gain while working alongside our Power Division crew, and we’re proud to support their growth as they take the next steps in their careers.

The Excel team showed up strong at this year’s annual fishing tournament at the Lake of the Ozarks. Our group enjoyed the fishing, meaningful conversations, and plenty of great food making it another memorable year for this long‑standing tradition.

Excel Utility Contractors had a great time at the State Technical College of MissouriState Technical College of Missouri Career Fair last week. Connecting with students and sharing the work we do in underground utilities is something our management team genuinely looks forward to each year. This marks our third year participating in the internship program, and it continues to be a highlight for us.

We’ve already begun interviewing candidates and are excited to welcome a new group of interns this summer as they take the next steps in building their career skills.
