Meet Stitch!

🐶This handsome 5-year-old French Bulldog came to AFRP after some unexpected medical issues, but he’s fully healed and ready to start the next chapter of his life in a forever home!

Personality & Favorite Things:

💜Affectionate, devoted, and completely obsessed with his favorite people
💜Loves hanging out with his humans and would happily be your little shadow around the house
💜Very happy to claim a spot on the couch and keep you company
💜Loves playing ball, training, and other fun enrichment activities
💜A really easy, low-maintenance guy who doesn’t need a super active lifestyle or long daily walks to be happy
💜Would love a securely fenced yard where he can sniff, explore, patrol his kingdom, and get in some occasional zoomies
💜Does well when left alone, so his person doesn’t need to be home 24/7
💜Has been doing training and working on his reactivity around unfamiliar dogs, and he’s been doing great!

💜Adult-only home where Stitch can be the one and only pet
Stitch can be reactive around unfamiliar dogs, so a family who is comfortable continuing his training and helping him feel safe and confident at his own pace is ideal

Meet Clyde, Dusty & Fozzie Bear! 🐾

These three adorable dogs are already AFRP staff favorites! Clyde came to us as a medical case from the Sacramento Bradshaw Shelter in mid-August and has made incredible progress! Dusty and Fozzie Bear recently came to AFRP from San Jose Animal Services and have received some TLC and lots of love from their fosters. These three boys are now ready to accept adoption applications and find their forever homes!

🐶 Clyde is a two year old poodle mix who came to us severely malnourished, with a matted coat infested with ticks and fleas - but in spite of that, still wanting to be loved and to give love. Once he started feeling better, his playful and energetic side emerged. Clyde would love to find a forever home with another canine buddy to play with and with adopters who would like to help him work on improving his basic obedience and manners. This boy is pure joy and happiness!

🐶 Dusty is a one year old chihuahua mix who is happy, confident, always ready for an adventure and is happy to give out lots of kisses to whoever is close enough to be licked. He loves going on walks, playing with toys, and especially loves cuddle time. He loves people, but can be a little “grumbly” when he first sees other dogs. He is looking for an adopter who will help him work on getting comfortable meeting new dogs while on walks. He currently fosters with another dog in the home and seems to enjoy having canine companionship at home.

🐶 Fozzie Bear will steal your heart the minute you meet him. He is an easy-going dog who is sweet, playful, affectionate and extremely friendly. He is happiest by your side and has easily settled into his foster home. He seems to really enjoy being around other dogs, so he would do well in a home with another dog just as easily as he would on his own. He’s looking for an adopter who will help him learn basic obedience and take him on lots of walks!

We’d love to see these dogs find the loving, patient families they deserve. ❤️

We’re just a few days away from a fun fall evening of creating, sipping, and getting crafty! Gather your friends and join us Saturday, October 3rd at AFRP for a night of art, drinks, snacks, and plenty of fun, all benefiting Animal Friends Rescue Project. ❤️

Choose from eight beautiful designs and create your own layered paper artwork! You’ll have everything you need, including all art materials, easy-to-follow instructions, and an instructor to guide you through layering each piece of paper to create your very own frame-worthy design. No artistic experience needed! 🎨✨

Your $80 ticket also includes a frame and mat, light snacks, w**e & non-alcoholic beverages, and one raffle ticket. Plus, we’ll have at least 5 raffle prizes up for grabs!

Meet our Pet of the Week, Earl Grey! 🐾

Just look at that handsome face! This 3-year-old cat has the most gorgeous golden eyes, a sweet grey-and-white face, adorable white paws, and a fluffy white chest. He came to AFRP from Hitchcock Road Animal Services due to their overflowing kitty population, and the staff here have quickly fallen for him. 🥹

Earl Grey is a calm and gentle guy who may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’s very sweet. He loves spending time with the AFRP staff, enjoys a good brushing session, and somehow always knows when it’s mealtime! 😆 He’s also curious and loves taking in the world around him.

We think Earl Grey would be the perfect companion this fall! Just imagine this sweet guy curled up next to you for a movie, a good book, or a cozy afternoon at home. 🍂

😻Carlo, Keira & Fig are officially ready to meet their people!

Carlo is a sweet little snuggler who would happily spend some time in your lap, Keira is a curious, playful little social butterfly, and Fig is happiest when she’s getting pets and attention. 🥰

Three very different personalities, but one thing they have in common: they’re ready to be adopted!

Meet our Pet of the Week, Roscoe! 🐾

Just look at that little face! This 2-year-old Shih-Tzu has the sweetest round eyes, floppy ears, and a little white chest. His foster says he has an adorable big head and an even bigger heart. 🥹

Once Roscoe starts to trust you, he becomes an absolute lovebug. He loves curling up in your lap, leaning into your neck for cuddles, and soaking up plenty of pets and affection. He’s also shown that he does well with another pup his size!

Roscoe can be a little anxious and sensitive when it comes to handling, so he’ll need a patient, adult-only home where he can take things at his own pace and build confidence.

Mei Mei and Skipper recently joined us from San Jose Animal Shelter, and all these little pups need now is a family to call their own!

Mei Mei, a 1-year-old Shih Tzu, is a tiny bundle of energy who wants to be right in the middle of everything! She’s curious, playful, sweet, and always excited for her next adventure. She’s still working on her manners, leash walking, potty training, and crate training, but she’s eager to learn and would love a family who can keep her busy!

Skipper, a 1-year-old Dachshund mix, may have short legs, but he has a BIG personality! He loves romping around with his doggy friends, soaking up attention from his foster family, and being part of the fun. He’s learning his puppy manners and potty training, and he’d love a friendly doggy sibling to keep him company.

If you’re looking for a fun-loving pup to add to your family, one of these two just might be your girl or guy!

Meet our Pet of the Week, Merengue! 🖤

This petite 2-year-old calico is sweet, sassy, curious, and full of personality! After raising her three kittens, Merengue is ready for a home of her own. She loves attention, happily meows when she wants some love, and enjoys playing with toys, exploring, and getting brushed. She may be small, but she has a BIG personality!

Merengue would do best with adults or children over 10 and could potentially live with calm, gentle cats. She’d likely prefer a dog-free home.

Meet Buttercup & Roscoe! 🐾

These two adorable 2-year-old Shih-Tzus recently came to AFRP from San Jose Animal Services in need of some TLC, and now they’re on the mend and are currently accepting adoption applications!

🐶 Roscoe is pretty hard to resist, especially when you get a look at that face and his absolutely adorable little underbite! 😍 He’s a sweet and sensitive boy who can be a little nervous with handling, but once he gets to know you and feels safe, he’s happy to soak up all the pets and cuddles you’ll give him. Roscoe just needs someone patient who will let him take things at his own pace and help him build confidence.

🌼 Buttercup is the sweetest little cuddle bug who would happily spend her days right beside her favorite person. She loves being close to her people, whether she’s curled up next to you or following you around the house. Basically, if you’re looking for a little shadow with a big heart, Buttercup is your girl!

Both pups have done well with another dog their size, although their compatibility with cats is currently unknown. Buttercup would do best with adult adopters or dog-savvy children over 6, while Roscoe is looking for an adult-only home.
