A deeply personal story about Alzheimer’s and caregiving is reaching audiences today. 💜

In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day, Sundown—a fiscally sponsored short film—is making its public online premiere with support from WETA and Well Beings.

The story grew from the filmmaker’s own experience caring for a mother with Alzheimer’s. Through independent filmmaking, that private family journey has become an opportunity to recognize caregivers, increase dementia awareness, and help more families feel seen.

Reaching the finalist stage is an achievement worth recognizing. It reflects the strength of each filmmaker’s vision and the work they have already invested in moving an original story toward the screen.

One filmmaker will receive $3,000 in cash and a valuable package of production and postproduction services to help complete their film.
