How many of you remember Margarita? Surfcat rescued her from a testing lab at a Northern California university. She’s always had a problem walking, but after all of the suffering, she went through, she is still as sweet as she can be always looking for love and attention. I call her our little healing cat because she always seems to hang out with the kitties that are not doing very well.
At this time, she has a mass on one of her lung lobes and has a pretty severe case of asthma. She’s being treated with prednisolone and gabapentin. She’s treated regularly with fluconazole as an inhalant and we also keep albuterol as an inhalant for emergency asthma attacks. On her last visit, our Vet informed us that she had two very infected teeth and we started to notice it because her breath was very stinky. I wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to be sedated so we did all of the things necessary to make sure that she would be OK during a dental procedure. Well to our amazement, her blood results were Purrfect❤️.
We were able to get her in sooner than later because of a cancellation. As you can see on the estimate, the high is right around $2000. We are looking for help financially so that she’s able to have this done. Every dollar counts and we are hoping you are able to help us by either donating or sharing. You can donate through PayPal or Venmo online or you can make your donation directly to the vet as well. Just call/text us and we will let you know where to send it.
Thank you so much for your continued support as we cannot continue to take care of these hospice kitties without your help. At this time we’re unable to take in more kitties because of financial reasons. When we made them the promise that they could live out their life in a warm comfortable setting, we meant all the way to the end.

Hi Surfcat Friends, Followers and Supporters 😻

We've been pretty quiet on social media this year but that doesn't mean the care for our sanctuary cats has stopped. In fact, quite the opposite. We've been busy caring for 12 cats, most of whom, for one reason or another, are unadoptable. You've met them all in our posts over the last couple of years but we'll be catching you up on each of them in the coming months in our series.

In the meantime, we'd appreciate any donations to help cover our basic expenses of food, litter, and medication. We typically don't have many adoptions like other rescues do (our last adoption was Mimi in December 2025), so we rely heavily on cash donations and donations from our Wish Lists to help fund our work.

For the most part, we take in cats that others won't - some have health issues, some have behavioral issues, some are unwanted seniors, and some just have the bad luck of being born outside. Rescuing them is the easy part, continuing to care for them is the hard part, and without your help, we struggle to make ends meet.

We appreciate every donation we receive. Whether you donate monthly, send something from one of our Wish Lists, or even share our posts, we thank you. Without your help, we couldn't continue to care for these deserving cats.

All 12 sanctuary Surfcats would like to thank you for your support. Aren't they precious 🐈

Stay tuned for updates on their purrsonal stories...

And thank you for your continued support, we truly appreciate it.

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day from all the Surfcats, especially our own resident mini panther, Jordan 🐈‍⬛

We've been pretty quiet on social media this year but that doesn't mean we haven't been continuing to care for 12 sanctuary cats. Your continued support helps us care for cats like Jordan and for that, we thank you 🖤

Do you have a mini panther? Feel free to drop them in the comments.
