Endurance Sports Wrecked My Body Image. Farming Saved Me. 02/01/2019

Endurance Sports Wrecked My Body Image. Farming Saved Me. After giving up competitive running, cycling, and triathlon, I bought a farm in Tennessee. I didn’t know at the time how challenging—and life-affirming—growing my own food would be.

Something all eaters need to be thinking about.

Michigan Food & Farming Systems (MIFFS) does extremely important work advocating for, and supporting, historically underserved farmers (aka veteran farmers, farmers of color, women farmers, new/beginning farmers). The networking opportunities and resources they've provided were immensely helpful while starting my farm. Please consider attending this event to give a little back to an organization that gives so much!

P.S. You'll get to enjoy a TOP NOTCH 3 course hyper-local meal prepared by a James Beard Award Winning chef and a speciality cocktail created by Ann Arbor Distilling Company. Supporting small farms and getting to eat tasty food?? Win. Win. ;)
