Our New York Safety Coach team members recently participated in an immersive training session focused on lifeguard audits, delivering effective feedback, and conducting facility inspections.

This type of hands-on training strengthens consistency and accountability in the field, helping our teams better support guards and deliver a safe, high-quality experience across every facility we serve.

Safety is the foundation of every pool operation.
Zones of Protection define each lifeguard’s area of responsibility, providing full coverage of the pool. In a multi-guard facility, our Zone Coverage Diagrams highlight overlap areas so no area goes unseen. Lifeguards review their specific zones during pool-side orientation, ensuring clarity, accountability, and teamwork from day one.
This approach supports preventing incidents and keeping everyone safe, reflecting our ongoing commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Clear communication is a key part of keeping pools safe.
Our Pool Safe and Swim Safe signs help both lifeguards and facility patrons understand the primary responsibilities of our lifeguards and the standards required to operate a safe facility. They also clearly communicate roles around the pool, reinforcing that our top priority is reducing the risk of drowning.
By setting clear expectations and promoting awareness, these signs support a safer, more confident experience for everyone at the pool.

May is Water Safety Month. Did you know drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1–4? That statistic alone is why our commitment to safety is non-negotiable.
Our approach begins with core emergency response training and swim testing, then adapts to the specific needs of each facility we serve. Safety is not a one-time checklist. It is a culture.

As we approach opening day, our teams are making strong progress on lifeguard recruiting to deliver a safe and well-prepared season.

The results speak for themselves: we’ve onboarded, trained, and certified 3,000+ Lifeguards across our 1,500 managed facilities.
These numbers reflect the time and commitment behind well-trained teams delivering safe, memorable swims all summer long.

We’re proud to spotlight Jeremy Fish, Vice President of American Pool DMV, who helps lead operations across the DMV area, covering more than 5,600 square miles from the Maryland and Delaware border down to Fredericksburg, Virginia, with the structure, consistency, and client focus that define our approach.

Jeremy and his team navigate a highly competitive and diverse market, balancing ever-changing local health regulations with a saturated landscape that challenges retention and new sales. Serving clients from HOAs and apartment communities to condominiums and other commercial facilities, they remain committed to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality pool operations. Backed by long-term client relationships and a strong reputation, the team continues to set the standard for pool management across the DMV region.

We’re proud to highlight our first-ever Safety Summit, bringing our teams together for a week of learning, collaboration, and a strengthened commitment to safety across all locations.

Our DMV team was excited to attend the Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) Conference & Expo this past Saturday, connecting with community association leaders and property managers from across the region.

We enjoyed meeting new faces, reconnecting with partners, and discussing pool management and staffing solutions. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table. We appreciated the conversations and look forward to continuing them.

The American Pool DMV team proudly participated in the Corporate Plunge in support of Special Olympics Maryland.

Despite the cold temperatures, our team showed up with energy and enthusiasm, coming together to support an incredible cause that provides year round training and competition opportunities for thousands of athletes at no cost.
