9:30 PM UPDATE: ONG crews remain on scene working to repair the damaged gas line. The Cornerstone Shopping Center remains closed and will remain closed until tomorrow morning at the earliest. Please continue to avoid the area. We will provide updates as they become available.
6PM UPDATE: ONG is still working on the scene. The shopping center remains closed and barricaded. ONG WILL PROVIDE US AN UPDATE ONCE THE REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE AND WE WILL PROVIDE AN UPDATE ONCE THE CENTER IS SAFE TO ENTER AGAIN. THERE IS NO NEED TO CALL INTO THE EMERGENCY DISPATCH CENTER TO ASK UPDATES (as that would interfere with ongoing emergencies), WE WILL PROVIDE UPDATES HERE AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
EMERGENCY SCENE
CORNERSTONE SHOPPING CENTER - 12300 East 86th St N
IS CLOSED - ALL BUSINESSES IN THE CENTER ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED. At approximately 3:40PM (Thurs 06-18) Owasso Police and Fire crews responded to a request for assistance from ONG, who advised of a main gas line leak/break right next to an electric transformer in the back of the strip center. Out of an abundance of caution fire officials, at the urging of ONG, have evacuated the entire center until a repair can be made. Owasso Police have all entrances and exits to the shopping center closed and all businesses in that shopping center will remain evacuated and closed until such a repair can be made. No roadways are effected at this time. Avoid this shopping center until the All Clear.

The City of Owasso's OSNI office would like to thank Owasso First Methodist Church's incredible youth program! This week is camp week where they go out in the community and help others in need.
We were fortunate enough to have an incredible God Squad come out to Owasso PD's Gun Range to help construct a raised flower bed for Sargent Barnes, Range Master.
Our project was a complete success! Thank you guys again for your support and dedication to service and for continuing to beautify our community!

Congrats to Recreation and Culture Program and Events Coordinator Bethany Brewer, who has been named the City of Owasso's Employee of the Quarter! She was recognized at City Council Tuesday evening.
Since being hired in April 2024, Bethany has become a driving force behind many of the events and experiences that bring our community together, including the Leprechaun Hunt, Ringing in at Redbud, Movies in the Park, Spring Fling, and Fall Festival.
Through her creativity and leadership, Bethany creates meaningful opportunities for Owasso residents to connect, celebrate, and engage with their city. She has also strengthened community engagement through innovative social media efforts that keep residents informed and connected.
Most importantly, Bethany exemplifies the City of Owasso's values through her initiative, humility, positivity, and commitment to being present in both her work and her relationships with others.

Hey Owasso, TWO DAYS LEFT to make your voice heard! We are inviting residents to take part in a brief survey through Friday at 11:59 p.m. that will help shape the future of our parks, recreation, and cultural services.
The survey was created as part of the development of the City’s 10-year Recreation and Culture Master Plan. Adopted in 2015, the current plan is being updated to address changing recreation trends, aging infrastructure, and evolving community priorities.
