Casey here~ Took a trip out to the in Frisco, TX! It was a blast to see all the games from my childhood and all the innovations that proceeded them. Tons of cool exhibits and plenty of games to play. If youโre in the area, check it out!

I don't do much sketching, so I'm pretty surprised as to how well this turned out. Art is cool, and I should probably draw more! (Post by Scott Maness, not going to let Casey Brooks have *all* of the fun...)

I'm usually focused on the technical parts of development. Today I thought I should do a little sketching. *highly* enjoyable. ~ Scott Maness. (Gotta give props to Jaysen Batchelor and his wonderful Udemy class.)

So what does Xamarin code look like? I guess the answer to that depends on how you approach it. You can write C # directly, or you can describe a form layout using and XML variant called XAML. Here's a shot of the XAML that makes up the prototype seen in previous pictures.

So, for the sake on completeness, I'm sharing the Android version, running on an HTC phone. This is pretty cool, because essentially the app is running on two completely different architectures with a mostly-shared code base.

Every story has to have a beginning, right? This picture is a screen shot of an app that Casey and I have begun work on. It is going to be an interactive fiction game, and we're going to try our hand at targeting both iOS and Android this time. I've been investigating Xamarin, and I'm pretty sure that's what we're going to use for this game.

This is too cool!
Scribner's magazine, from 1894, predicted the "end of the book" and the rise of the audiobook.

Haptronic was formed by me and Casey because we both had childhood dreams of writing games (which if I was a betting man I'd say that a lot of kids from the 80's and 90's probably had the same dream!). The picture here is of the first real computer that I ever had, the illustrious and wonderful Commodore 64! This machine still works too, my friends. Maybe one day I'll post some action shots.
It was on this computer that I spent the summer of 1984 trying to make a working version of a game concept I created called "Spider's Revenge". I did actually get the thing to the point where a ship would move around the screen and shoot three bullets before it would lock up the C64. ๐๐๐
