🎸 What a great night at Fulgums Bar & Grill in Montrose for our rock band student showcase! We also had some amazing solo student performances. So much talent, hard work, and great vibes all around. 🤘

Big thanks to Fulgums for always hosting us. We’ve been frequenting this local spot for years, and it’s always a great place for music, community, and food. (Swipe for the chicken Caesar salad — huge portions and delicious! 🥗🔥)

Nothing beats supporting local businesses that support the arts. 🎶❤️ Packed house on a Monday night! Nothing better!

We are so proud of our music classes in Yonkers at School 32! They did a great job at their show on Friday!

Join us Sunday, June 21 from 4:00–7:00 PM at The Boathouse in Ossining for a free afternoon of music-making as part of Make Music Day Ossining/Briarcliff.

🎤 Acoustic Open Mic (4:00–7:00 PM)
Acoustic guitar & vocal performances only.
Solo and duo performers welcome.
Two-song limit. Pre-registration required. Email us [email protected] to sign up

🥁 Community Rhythm Jam (5:00 PM)
Join in and make music together. No experience necessary.

🎸 Ukulele Meetup (6:00 PM)
We’ll provide the ukuleles and teach a simple song everyone can play together.

🎵 Harmonica Jam (6:30 PM)
Free harmonicas for participants while supplies last.

🌊 Come for one activity or stay for all of them!

🍔 Food and drinks available for purchase from The Boathouse throughout the event. Please support them, they are our host venue!

Let’s celebrate Make Music Day together on the Hudson River! The Boathouse Make Music Day

Make Music Day is coming up! In honor of Make Music Day, we are offering a FREE string change workshop that comes with a free set of strings for the first 10 sign ups! Haven’t you always wanted to learn how to change the strings on your acoustic steel string guitar?

Excited for our showcase this week with our classes in Yonkers! 🎶 Over the past several weeks, we’ve been working closely with them on ukulele, singing, and musical theater. It’s been amazing to watch their skills, confidence, and creativity grow with each session. We’re so proud of all their hard work and can’t wait for them to share what they’ve learned with family, friends, and the community. Music has the power to inspire, connect, and uplift—and these young performers are a perfect example of that. ❤️🎭🎸

🎶 In honor of Make Music Day, we’re inviting kids, families, and curious music lovers of all ages to explore the Musical Instrument Zoo at Mike Risko Music!

Whether you’re thinking about joining band or orchestra next year, considering instrument rentals, or simply curious about making music, this free hands-on event is a chance to see and try real musical instruments—including strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion. And yes! We will have guitars too!

No pressure. No experience required. Just musical fun!

These guitars may be broken… but their new story is just beginning. 🎸

Many of the instruments donated through our instrument donation program end up back in the hands of musicians and students so they can keep making music. These guitars, however, were broken beyond repair — but we still couldn’t let them end up in the garbage.

Instead, they’re getting a second life through a creative new project. We’re excited to see them transformed into something completely new.
