A Love Letter to Asparagus - https://mailchi.mp/teachingtable/lovelettertoasparagus
Asparagus always catches my eye at the farmers' market. With a little less romanticism and a greater abundance than ramps, I can’t help myself and always buy fresh, local asparagus when I see it— even if I don’t have a specific plan for it. I know I’ll figure out a way to enjoy it. If you’ve also purchased asparagus lately, this email is for you, filled with recipes featuring asparagus.

How I Cook Every Night Without Going to the Store - https://mailchi.mp/teachingtable/howicookwithoutshopping
This week, for the first time, I weighed the cost of my usual longer trip to Trader Joe's (thank you, off-the-charts gas prices) against the savings from their relatively lower food prices. I opted for a quicker trip to a nearby store for slightly higher-priced ingredients.
Regardless, I am also well-equipped for cooking without frequent trips to the store. Here are a few elements of my strategy to cook more while shopping less.

Find your Balance and Edible Plants - https://mailchi.mp/teachingtable/findyourbalance. It’s been a quieter couple of weeks here at the Teaching Table. If you attended one of our noisy, boisterous classes this past weekend, you might not agree, lol! Indeed, we usually experience a slowdown after the winter bustle at this time of year. Like my students, I’m getting outside more and have caught up some on a lot of much-needed yard work. Before weeding out everything, I’ve been using my Seek app to...

Culinary Experiences for Moms - https://mailchi.mp/teachingtable/dontcookyourspoons-12851872
When deciding which classes to offer for Mother’s Day, I first think of the delightful experiences my mother has cherished. For instance, making Handmade Pasta with her grandchildren online, Sourdough Bread Baking, Wood-Fired Pizza and of course, her favorite activity: an enchanting Afternoon Tea Party, filled with fragrant teas, delicate scones, tiny sandwiches, and the joy of sharing stories with loved ones. Here's what else moms like at Teaching Table..

Are You Cooking your Spoons? - https://mailchi.mp/teachingtable/dontcookyourspoons
Some of my students may recognize these adorable spoon rests at Teaching Table—a silicone ravioli gifted to me by my sister, who is uniquely talented at giving random novelty gifts. I also have a new addition: a ceramic corn plate that I painted.
If you've taken a class here, you might have noticed that we encourage you to use the ingredient trays provided to rest your dirty spoons on while cooking. You don’t want to cook your spoons.
