Happy Earth Day!

We mourn the loss of our beloved Karen. Karen passed unexpectedly on January 27 th. She worked for me at For Kids Only for over 24 years. She was my right hand (and left hand, and heart). I was always said when they used the name Karen to identify self-centered individuals. She was kind and sweet to all who took the time to know her. Watching her rock an infant to sleep, you could just see the peace she felt. We all miss you: your family, friends, all the children, parents and staff of FKO. RIP

I am involved with a group that is working to protect Pocantico Lake from a development proposed by Zappico Construction Company at 715 Sleepy Hollow Rd. The Town of Mt. Pleasant. The Planning Board has allowed the environmental report (FEIS) to move through the system despite repeated negative comments from residents and environmental organizations. This is a County park and can effect all of us.

The board has given us until Thursday to respond with emails. I am looking for an engineer who can help me review a section of the Draft FEIS that relates to stormwater management. Appreciate any help. I must respond by Thursday.

Home With thirty-one houses on the shoreline of the lake, its serenity and beautiful landscape will be forever desecrated. Instead of uninterrupted wilderness, you’ll be looking at a subdivision as you explore the public trails.

It’s time for Family Photos at FKO

Sunday, November 23rd, Leslye Smith (professional photographer) will be at FKO from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Each session will last ½ hour. The fee is $55.00 per session. We will be raising money for All Cat’s Lives Matter, where Leslye volunteers. Please call Karen, Dana or Wendy @ (914) 923-1889 to book your session.
