Rainy day today, but the babies were allowed to play together. Happy babies, jumping, running, kicking.

I knew that Aurora was heavier than Luna at birth just from carrying them both. She's also a bit taller. I was able to get a couple of pics of them side by side.
Luna is the lighter colored one. Also, the smaller one! 🤷🏼‍♀️
Sage is smaller than Rosie, so it makes sense.

Well, today little Luna is 7 days old. She is just full of it! But Miss Aurora Thyme seems to have even MORE energy and attitude than her..if that's possible! She is a pretty little thing, though.

Luna was in the other pasture and Sage ended up having to go walk her to the gate...it's open so they have both sides right now. Apparently Luna wanted to hang out with her "big" sister, Winnie. You can see in the picture of them together just how little Winnie is. 15 months next to 7 days. She's definitely a peanut.

In other news, Tauri's number 3 baby was a little bull! (So, he is now 8 and 2 on that) He arrived about an hour ago. Up and nursing already. I will share better pics of him when I get some. We sold Mari (and Chrysa) to some friends, so I only have 1 to share right now.

Now we wait to see if Jasmine was actually bred. Can never tell with her because she is so thin all the time. She seems to think she's a super model and refuses to gain weight.

And it's another heifer. Mr. Tauri sure loves to give us the girls. 1 bull out of 9, so far. One more (possibly 2) due any time...let's see what happens. Good job, Rosie!

RBR Luna Hawthorn

First baby of the year! Sage gave us a little heifer. Mom & baby are doing great. Sage didn't like her birthing area options so she did go thru the fence. Not too far, though. Everything was cleaned up and they were resting when I discovered them. 🥰

I guess I need to keep going with this. However, does this look like someone that really wants to be celebrating a Mother's Day Birthday? Happy 6th Rosie girl....time to release the hostage!

As we sit here waiting on the 2026 calves to arrive, let's wish the baby daddy a Happy 6th Birthday. Foxglove Zeta Tauri was our first Dexter calf to be born at RBR. Since then, he has sired 6 little heifers and 1 bull. He has 4 babies due this year. Expecting 1 to be a bull, but we shall see...anytime now.
